PlanB for Healthhas contracted with an innovative counseling service to provide members a confidential source to discuss problems or personal situations they may be experiencing at home and at work. The Personal and Employee Assistance Program is accessible by a toll-free number seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Callers speak immediately with trained professional counselors who immediately provide services. If an emergency exists, the counselor will offer crisis intervention and help the caller develop a safety plan. If the caller does not speak English,our provider has immediate foreign language capabilities. In non-emergency situations, callers speak with a counselor over the telephone and address a number of life issues, including, but not limited to:

When additional treatment or assistance is necessary from outside the program, referrals are coordinated with the appropriate resources. These resources may include coordinating care with your personal medical insurance, referring you to resources within your community, or referral to a behavioral health provider in your area at discounts ranging up to 30%.

Travel Assistance

PlanB for Health has contracted with the international leader in travel assistance services to provide members access to a worldwide network of medical and travel assistance personnel whenever they travel. Travel Assistance and Emergency Medical Evacuation Services are available when you are traveling over 100 miles away from home and you are faced with a serious injury or illness or a travel related emergency. All medical services are provided based on medical necessity, which is determined by our Program Medical Advisor in collaboration with the eligible member's attending physician.

Medifile

PlanB for Healthoffers members as a value added service Medifile, a medical record storage & retrieval plan.

Medifile hasdesigned an easy point-and-click questionnaire to collect all the health information usually required for emergencies, school enrollment, travel, and other needs. If you wish, you can send in additional printed material, like medical reports, living wills, or EKG printouts, at any time. You may even want to consult your primary care doctor to be sure you don't leave out anything important.

All of this information will be permanently stored by Medifile on a special secure computer.They also maintain a complete backup of your information at another secure location to insure constant availability.

The Medifile Call Center Specialists are available 24 hours a day to safely release member information by fax, or verbally over the phone, to qualified healthcare providers. The Medifile Call Center can be reached from anywhere in the world. For members traveling, whether in the United States or not, Medifile can provide the peace of mind that vital information can be accessed no matter where the member is located.
